Thirty experts from various ministries, government entities and industry heads hosted the numerous workshops and gave advice on legal and financial matters as well as tips on home decoration and design ideas. The exhibition served as a conduit between various segments of the house-building industry like contractors and consultants, and potential customers.
Rawad Sleem, Managing Director of NeXTfairs, said: “We are very pleased with the success of the first edition of Build Your House 2020 and the response has been far better than we anticipated. The level of participation from exhibitors, the level of public interest, the packed attendance at the workshops and seminars and the knowledge and expertise of the speakers have all gone beyond our expectations. For the prosperity of its citizens and to ensure their social stability, the Qatari government has allocated the largest budget in 2020 for the processing of lands for them for building a personal residence. Build Your House 2020 was organised in time to provide the right help and advice to the citizens to go ahead with their house building projects. We are extremely thankful for the patronage of His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, who has shown his trust in our venture with his patronage and encouragement. We are also very thankful to the ministries, government officials and our generous sponsors for their unwavering support and backing. The huge demand for such an exhibition is encouraging us to return next year with the second edition of Build Your House which will be bigger and better than this year.”
The highlight of the inaugural edition of Build Your House 2020 were the hugely popular workshops and seminars conducted by 30 experts from the public and private sector. Divided on the basis of popular themes inspired from the latest house building trends from around the world, the workshops were a great add-on value to the exhibition as industry-expert speakers shared their experience and know-how to give visitors the right advice, inspiration, ideas, and knowledge to complete their next project.
Most of the workshops and seminars were fully booked through pre-registration even before the exhibition commenced. The topics for the workshops and seminars ranged from an in-depth probe into Islamic finance and legal aspects for contractual contracts to architectural and interior design. Sustainability was one of the main topics of discussion as experts advised attendees on how to build a sustainable and energy efficient home under the Qatar National Vision 2030.
