Mall of Qatar concluded its Sport Day Challenges on Friday, crowning three winners with valuable prizes. The sport competition provided the public with a chance to compete in a range of individual and team sports events over three weeks.
The Sport Day Challenges took place at the mall sport activation area “Mall of Qatar Stadium” from 7th to 29th February 2020, with more than 1,500 participants between the age of 8 and 14 years old. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners were awarded QR. 1,500, QR. 1,000 and QR. 750 in gift cards from Mall of Qatar, and those who didn’t make it to the finals were given QAR 300 along with certificates and medals.
“We view the Qatar National Sport Day as an opportunity for Mall of Qatar to bring communities closer together through sport, team building, unity, participation, fitness, health and fun. Our Sports Day Challenge engaged a huge number of young people in healthy competition, giving them a platform to showcase their abilities and inspire others to adopt sports into their daily routine. The event is in line with our social responsibility ambitions to support human and social development in Qatar”, said Khaled Sam Hosn, CEO of Mall of Qatar.
The sport activities included in the challenges were Hand Ball Target Shooting, Football Speed Kick, Connect 4 Basketball, VR Game challenge and Mini Golf.
The event aimed to elevate the benefits of an active and healthy lifestyle through such sporting activities, as well as a enable unity through common competition.
