Qatar announces 178 new Covid-19 cases, 208 recoveries on Oct 10

Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 178 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 208 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 124,767. 

Out of the 178 new cases, 168 are community cases and 10 from travelers returning from abroad.

All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 127,778 and there are 2792 active cases under treatment. So far, 219 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.

Ministry conducted 5143 tests in the last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 825,511 tests. There are 29 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total patients in the hospital to 361.

One patient was admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 54.

While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:

- Adherence to physical distancing.

- Avoid?close contact with others,?crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate.

- Wearing a face mask.

- Washing hands regularly
