Doha, Qatar- November 07, 2021: Qatar Career Development Center, a member of Qatar Foundation, has opened registration for the Facilitating Career Development (FCD) Training Program, which qualifies participants to obtain accreditation recognized by the internationally-reputed National Career Development Association (NCDA).
The program, which has been specifically designed to reflect the Qatari ecosystem, teaches individuals the relevant skills and knowledge to enable them to assist others in their career planning process. Delivered by NCDA-qualified trainers, the FCD Training Program also provides participants with comprehensive and intensive tutoring in the principal areas of career development, and offers support in choosing a career path and entering an appropriate work scope.
Participants who have successfully completed the program will be eligible to apply for the Career Services Provider Certification (CCSP) from NCDA, and the Global Career Development Facilitator Certification (G-CDF) from the Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE), both of which are internationally recognized credentials.
Mr. Abdulla Al-Mansoori, QCDC’s Director, said: “QCDC has always worked to meet the national needs in the field of career development, whether through direct career guidance activities, or through the training programs that we provide to assist others in planning careers and obtaining meaningful work. Through this program we seek to train individuals specialized in providing career guidance services, to ensure that the young people in Qatar benefit from the best experiences that will help them choose the fields that suit their abilities and aspirations, thus providing the national economy with the potential capabilities of driving growth and prosperity in the future.”
He added: “We are proud that the training completely relies on local potential, as it will be introduced by two of QCDC’s career advisors and the first NCDA-certified trainers to offer this program in Qatar and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. This reflects our experts’ high capabilities, and the efforts we are exerting to strengthen and develop our human cadre, to make it possible to provide the best career development skills without seeking career consultants from abroad.”
‘Effrosyni Parampota and Paige M. McDonough, both experts in career guidance and professional development at QCDC, will host the training in English virtually through MS Teams over three months from January 10, 2022, to April 25, 2022. The intensive program includes 160 training hours related to career development and features hands-on and interactive teaching methods suitable for a variety of work settings. To further hone their skills after the completion of the program, FCD graduates will also be eligible to participate in QCDC’s Career Advisor Mentoring Program, giving them the opportunity to gain practical experience in providing career guidance under the supervision of experienced practitioners.
All citizens and residents of the State of Qatar, as well as the GCC and Middle East & North Africa (MENA) countries, can participate in the FCD Training Program. Career professionals of various levels of education and experience in the field of career development and others whose work involves providing career development information or skills to students, adults, clients, employees, or the public can also join the program, as can those who wish to gain experience that enables them to enter the field of career development.
