Two deaths and 253 Covid-19 cases reported in Qatar on Sept 7

Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 253 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 243 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 117,241.

MoPH also reported two deaths of a 71 and 76-year-olds due to the coronavirus.

Out of the 253 new cases, 233 are community cases and 20 from travellers returning from abroad.

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 120,348 and there are 2902 active cases under treatment. So far, 205 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.

Ministry conducted 3640 tests in the last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 663,648 tests. There are 35 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours.

Eight patients were admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 59.

All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.

While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:

- Adherence to physical distancing.
- Avoid?close contact with others,?crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate.
- Wearing a face mask.
- Washing hands regularly.
