Nine by Jane Shepard is an engaging production by the Doha Players that arrives at THIS theatre on 31 March to 3 April 2026, where the doors open at 7:00 PM and the play starts at 7:30 PM.

It is a close-up, intense theatre play focusing on two women, who are locked up in two different rooms, being chained and the language is the only weapon they have, and survival of the fittest is determined by the psychological strength. Every word is a word, as they go through mind games, power plays, and tentative trust--life and death. It is a devastating and unexpectedly sweet and blackly comic work, in which the author asks about the emotional price of survival and the quality of the human bond.

Staged in a small venue with a small number of seats, where it can best be appreciated in the rawest sense, Nine is a play best appreciated by children of 14 years of age and over, as it has adult themes. Having evening shows scheduled 31 st March, 2 nd April and 3 rd rd April, this production is one that will make a strong, thought provoking theatrical impression that should not be forgotten long after the curtain goes down.
