Full Event Details/Description: 

Jump into the world of mythology, music, and fantasy with the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra to perform the classical masterpiece of Rimsky-Korsakov, the story of Scheherazade, at the Katara Cultural Village- Opera House.

Conducted by a famous conductor Elias Grandy, the orchestra makes this bright symphonic suite about One Thousand and One Nights alive. In four breathtaking movements, audiences will be swept over the vast seas, shimmering court, and the adventures of daring and all that is combined by the classic sound of violin solo that is sure to take the shape of Scheherazade herself, played by Concertmaster Joo Young Oh.

To add to the atmosphere of an evening, Taoufik Mirkhan plays the qanun, and Rania Shehab provides her voice as a narrator, with all the accompanying enchantment and narrations to this musical trip to remember.

To make it even more thrilling, there will be a special surprise to the audiences as a part of the program of the evening.

Guidelines on the attendance of concerts 

Ticketing & Admission

• All the tickets should be bought online beforehand.
• There should be no refunding or exchanges.
• Children below 6 years are non-admitted.
• Pre-performance seating commences 30 minutes before the performance.

Venue Protocol

• The QPO representatives will lead the customers to their respective seats.
• All cell phones have to be switched off.
• No flash photography and video recording.
• Attendees who are late shall only be seated at the right time during a break in performance.
• The re-entry to the concert is only restricted to the seats that are close to the exit.
• The concert hall does not allow food and drinks (except water).

Patron Conduct

• The Philharmonic has the right to ask any person causing any disturbance to the performance.
• The personal property or injuries are not covered in the venue.

Additional Information

• Change of programmes and artists can be done abruptly.
• In order to get a relevant discount, relevant student, staff, and disability identification must be sent to the Box Office prior to booking at qpoboxoffice@qf.org.qa.

Dress Code

There is a need to dress smartly in a casual style. The audience in inappropriately casual attires such as shorts or beachwear will not be seated.
