Fans of the legendary rock band Queen were treated to a night of nostalgia at the Giwana Ballroom in Radisson Blu Hotel, Doha on 23 May 2024. The atmosphere was electrifying, with a sold-out event hosting over 500 enthusiastic guests reveling in the golden era of rock ‘n’ roll, courtesy of PURE QUEEN, the ultimate tribute to Queen and Freddie Mercury.
As the ballroom filled with hyped guests in Freddie Mercury-inspired attire, everyone anticipated a night full of fun and memorable moments. The evening ignited with overflowing drinks and a sumptuous buffet, followed by a welcoming remarks and introduction to the stars of the night – the PURE QUEEN tribute band, led by Mark Sanders as ‘Freddie Mercury’, Richard Ashford as ‘Brian May’, Jon Caulton as ‘John Deacon’, and Tristan Snowden Poole as ‘Roger Taylor.’
As the night progressed, the iconic hits kept coming, each one met with roaring applause and heartfelt sing-alongs. Classics like “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Another One Bites the Dust, “Radio Gaga”, and “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” had the audience on their feet, clapping and stomping along to every line of the songs.
The band’s attention to detail not only showed in their musical performances, costumes and stage personas, but also served as a profound tribute to the Queen’s enduring legacy. Throughout the evening, the Giwana Ballroom was transformed into a time machine, transporting guests to a bygone musical era of the 70’s.
As the final rhythm of “Don’t Stop Me Now” echoed loudly, a shared of joy swept over the audience. The experience, professionalism, high quality sound and visual production made it another successful event at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Doha.
