Award coincides with first year anniversary of the office opening in Qatar

Crowell & Moring has been awarded the “2021 Qatar Practical Guidance Award” by LexisNexis Middle East, an award which recognizes editorial contributions to Lexis® Middle East publications ranging from books, to magazines and journals including the MENA Business Law Review and the Lexis Middle East Law Alert. The firm was recognized during the LexisNexis Authors’ Reception and Awards Ceremony held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, Dubai International Financial Centre on October 13. A total of only nine firms were selected for an award among the GCC countries. Crowell & Moring was the one firm chosen to win the Qatar Law Firm Practical Guidance Award.

“As we edge closer towards our one year anniversary for the firm’s Doha office later this month, I am proud that the team has been recognized for their input on topics of relevance for businesses considering to operate in Qatar and the region,” said Charbel Maakaron, managing partner of the Doha office. “As more and more companies begin to recognize how attractive Qatar is for foreign direct investment, the breadth and experience of our lawyers in Doha is undoubtedly important for those seeking reliable guidance on the legal and regulatory landscape in Qatar.”

According to LexisNexis, the Crowell & Moring won the award in recognition of regular and quality contributions to its Middle East publications. Over the past year, the lawyers at the Doha office have provided contributions focused on various topics such as public-private partnerships and the various methods available for businesses choosing to incorporate in Qatar.

Ellen McClure, Practical Guidance Editor of Lexis® Middle East, commented: "We are very pleased to present the Qatar Practical Guidance Award to Crowell & Moring this year. Their insightful contributions to our cross jurisdictional Incorporation Practice Guides and Practice Notes on public-private partnerships in Qatar have been invaluable. We look forward to working with Crowell & Moring on many more exciting editorial features in the near future."
