Doha, Qatar – February 15, 2022: Doha Festival City, Qatar's one and only choice for shopping, dining, and entertainment, continues implementing a number of initiatives to empower visitors and offer them a unique shopping experience that they can enjoy with utmost peace of mind.

In line with its ongoing CSR initiatives, the Mall’s #FestivalCares programme displays a robust calendar of community initiatives and events catered towards providing support and assistance to customers, helping enrich their shopping experience, as well as extending support to the local community.

Giving exceptional attention towards the health and safety of visitors amidst the COVID pandemic, the Mall’s Facilities Management Team and Security Services Team work in tandem to ensure a safe shopping environment in compliance with the latest preventive and precautionary measures taken by the State of Qatar to limit the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Mall conducts diligent Ehteraz checks on all visitors upon entry, and provides them with face masks when needed, working around the clock to ensure a sanitized shopping environment for all mall visitors and staff. The Mall conducts regular daily disinfection of all surfaces and seats in public areas – especially high touch surfaces such as escalator belt and balcony edges, in addition to performing a weekly disinfection of all areas around the Mall. To protect visitors, the Mall converted its elevators to a touch-less interface and installed 127 hand sanitizing stations in the areas with commonly touched surfaces.

Caring about the comfort of shoppers, Doha Festival City upgraded its facilities to be more accessible. It also installed family amenities such as baby changing rooms in various locations, having also ensured the availability of benches and seating areas scattered around parking areas. The Mall’s Security Services Team provides umbrellas on rainy days, helping jump-start vehicles, reuniting lost children with their parents, and providing wheelchair services for those who need it.

As part of its commitment to empowering the community, the Mall continues building partnerships with various government entities and local organizations. Earlier this month, the Mall partnered with Qatar Charity by hosting a flash mob performance to raise awareness on the plight of Syrian Refugees in the winter.

Robert Hall, Doha Festival City’s General Manager, said: “At Doha Festival City, we genuinely care about the wellbeing and comfort of our visitors, and we equally care about the community at large. Giving back to the community is at the heart of Doha Festival City’s mission, wherein all our teams work together to achieve seamless results. We are also proud to work in partnership with our dedicated local partners and various organizations to help raise awareness on the great work they do to communities in need, wherever they are”.

Doha Festival City opening hours are Saturday to Wednesday from 10am to 10 pm, and Thursday to Friday from 10am to 11pm. In line with the preventative measures set out by the authorities, Doha Festival City has introduced stringent health and safety measures throughout the mall for its staff and visitors. This includes a thorough mall disinfection treatment on a weekly basis, robust cleaning, and sanitization operations during mall trading hours, 127 hand sanitizing stations installed in the areas that have commonly touched surfaces.
