Doha Festival City, Qatar’s ultimate destination for shopping, dining, and entertainment, having recently revamped its brand positioning “It’s my Place, my Choice”, has partnered with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) to raise awareness about mental health in the local community.

The mall is once again taking steps to promote the health and wellbeing of its visitors and the wider community, this time focusing on mental health. In time for Mental Health Awareness Month typically observed in May, Doha Festival City is taking a proactive approach by raising awareness about the importance of this critical issue, striving to empower visitors to take care of their own wellbeing, as well as reducing the stigma surrounding it.

Running until May 13th, The joint campaign will be held in the Atrium Node during mall working hours where HMC representatives will conduct primary analysis, answer visitors' questions, and provide educational materials and brochures with information on stress management and healthy habits for mental health.

Commenting on the initiative, Robert Hall, Doha Festival City’s General Manager, said: "We are pleased to once again collaborate with Hamad Medical Corporation, following the success of our joint World Kidney Day and flu vaccination campaigns, as part of our #FestivalCares CSR program. At Doha Festival City, we believe that it is our duty as a socially responsible organization to promote positive mental health practices and to provide support to those who may be struggling.”

“We would like to thank HMC for their continuous support and believe that through this partnership, we can make a positive impact on the mental health of our community", he added.

Doha Festival City and HMC have a track record of successful collaborations on initiatives aimed at promoting key health issues to visitors. This year saw the launch of a joint flu vaccination campaign which was highly successful in raising awareness and promoting vaccination among visitors. In March, Doha Festival City set up an interactive booth to mark World Kidney Day 2023, attracting a significant number of visitors through educational activities and informative displays.

"As mental health professionals, we recognize the critical importance of raising awareness and engaging with the public on mental health issues," emphasized Ms. Katja Warwick-Smith, Assistant Executive Director of Nursing and Operational Lead for the National Mental Health Helpline.

"We are delighted to collaborate with Doha Festival City, a bustling hub that welcomes a diverse mix of visitors, to offer valuable insights and resources.
