Ooredoo Group announced joining Listen Up! – Advancing Digital Wellbeing for Children and Youth, a Global Child Forum initiative designed to ensure that young people’s voices help shape the digital environments they engage with every day.
The collaboration was formalised at GSMA’s inaugural MWC Doha, marking the beginning of an intended long-term relationship that cements Ooredoo’s important role in responsible digital leadership and in creating safer, more inclusive digital experiences for children and youth across its global footprint.
Ooredoo: Strengthening Commitment to Young Users
Across its markets, Ooredoo has long championed safer and more responsible internet use, leading awareness campaigns on cyber safety, digital responsibility and child protection.
By joining Listen Up!, Ooredoo is taking the next step: designing with children, not just for them, ensuring their lived experiences inform future products, services and policies.
Fatima Sultan Al-Kuwari, Group Chief Human Resources & Sustainability Officer, Ooredoo, said: “We are joining Listen Up! because we want to put an even greater emphasis on supporting children and young people through our services. As a digital enabler, we have a responsibility to ensure that the networks and platforms young people use every day truly contribute to their wellbeing. We look forward to learning from youth consultations and expert partners, and using those insights to enhance our impact across all markets.”
Ekin Ergün Björstedt, Secretary General, Global Child Forum, said: “We are delighted to welcome Ooredoo into the Listen Up! Project. The company’s strong regional presence allows us to bring many more young voices into the conversation about digital wellbeing and to translate what they tell us into real changes in products, services and policies.”
What Listen Up! Brings
Launched in 2025 with partners Telia, Tele2, Orange and Vodafone, Listen Up! connects the digital industry directly with children and young people through structured consultations and multi-stakeholder dialogues - generating practical insights to help companies build safer, healthier online experiences.
With Ooredoo’s footprint across the Middle East, North Africa and Asia, the initiative will significantly expand its geographic reach and deepen understanding of how children experience digital services in diverse markets.
From Insight to Action
With Ooredoo now on board, Listen Up! will:
- Expand youth consultations into additional Ooredoo markets.
- Share findings to accelerate good practice across the industry.
- Support companies in turning insights into concrete action - from service design and content policies to parental tools and user support.
Global Child Forum continues to welcome additional telecom and digital industry leaders to join Listen Up! and help co-create a safer, more inclusive digital world for children and youth.
