An Exceptional Weekend Awaits: World Polo Legends, Qatari Champions, and Spectators will Gather at Polo AlMarsa Qatar 2025.
Polo AlMarsa Qatar 2025 enters its final countdown with remarkable momentum, ahead of Qatar’s first-ever polo overlooking the waterfront. Excitement continues to build as Qatar prepares to welcome local and international audiences to Old Doha Port on 11–13 December for a weekend that blends sport, culture, heritage, and world-class hospitality.
Hosted by Qatar Polo Club, supported by The Social & Sport Contribution Fund DAAM, and presented by Qatar Calendar, Polo AlMarsa brings the elegance and tradition of polo to Doha through a three-day programme featuring elite matches, live entertainment, cultural showcases, and family-friendly experiences. The event, in Strategic Cultural Partnership with Years of Culture, brings together Argentinian, Chilean and Qatari players to celebrate shared heritage.
In its inaugural edition, Polo AlMarsa Qatar 2025 will feature four cups, each reflecting a distinct aspect of the event’s sporting and cultural identity. The Years of Culture Championship Cup will take place on Friday over three chukkas, honouring the cultural partnership between Qatar, Argentina, and Chile.
The Polo AlMarsa Cup, staged on Saturday, will bring four teams into an exciting knockout format across multiple chukkas. The Mini Mallets Cup will be played across both days, showcasing rising youth talent. Completing the programme, the Qatar Ladies Trophy on Friday celebrates the growing strength and influence of women in polo.
Across these tournaments, the event will welcome elite players from Qatar, Argentina, and Chile. Team Buenos Aires (Saleh Al Marri, Milo Mac Donough, Pablo Mac Donough) and Team Santiago (Ahmed Al Badi, José Donoso, León Donoso) will compete for the Years of Culture Championship Trophy. For the Polo AlMarsa Cup, Team Buenos Aires, Team Santiago, Team Lusail (Bader Al Marri, Beltrán Laulhé, Gastón Laulhé), and Team Doha (Abdulaziz Al-Qahtani, Beltrán Di Paola, Marcos Di Paola) will take to the field in a thrilling four-team contest.
The youth division will see Team Doha Juniors (Patrick Clarkin, Elizabeth Clarkin, Milo Mac Donough) face Team Lusail Juniors (Rafa Mac Donough, Vicente Di Paola, Adino Donoso) across two days in the Mini Mallets Cup. In parallel, the Qatar Ladies Trophy will feature Ladies Doha (Sophie Kyriazi, Sarah Rippon, Magdalena Escrina) and Ladies Lusail (Elizabeth Clarkin, Lucia Mier Portillo, Nina Clarkin), highlighting excellence and leadership in women’s polo.
The event will also present a curated programme of cultural, lifestyle, and entertainment activations, forming a full weekend that ensures an experience reflecting the heritage and global exchange for guests of all ages. Friday’s programme includes the Opening Ceremony and All-Team Parade, the Mini Mallets Cup opener, the Heritage Show, AlMarsa Ladies Cup, and the Years of Culture Championship match, followed by a prize-giving ceremony. On Saturday, audiences will enjoy the Mini Mallets Cup Final, the full Polo AlMarsa Cup knockout series, the Heritage Horse Show, celebrity activations, and the championship finals.
Additionally, the tournament will welcome a line-up of 40 polo ponies, supporting all matches across the weekend.
