In a significant stride towards sustainability, the Ministry of Transport held the Sustainability Conference on 26 October at the Congress Centre in the Cultural Zone as part of Expo 2023 Doha, an event marking the confluence of global stakeholders committed to shaping a sustainable future.

The conference showcased a vivid landscape of the future of transport, commencing with the art of balancing road design aesthetics with sustainability. Rooted in the guidelines from the Qatar Highway Design Manual, the discussions highlighted the Ministry's approach to achieving a blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal in road designs, all the while prioritising environmental considerations.

The discussion expanded to examine the broader repercussions of land transport on health and the surrounding ecosystem. Central to this dialogue was the anticipation surrounding the "Strategy for Mitigating Transportation Impact on Environment and Health." This initiative highlights the State of Qatar's holistic approach, as it seeks to resonate with the goals set by the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the foundational tenets of the Transportation Master Plan for Qatar.

In alignment with Expo 2023 Doha, the Sustainability Conference reflected the Ministry of Transport’s forward-thinking initiatives and its commitment to pushing the boundaries of sustainable transportation. This collaboration emphasises how global policies and local actions converge with the shared goal of creating a sustainable future, showcasing a united front in addressing sustainability challenges.
