Throughout the holy month of Ramadan, Qatar’s favourite shopping destination, Doha Festival City offers visitors a glimpse into Ramadan traditions from around the world, shedding light on different cultures through a series of interactive installations.
Doha Festival City, Qatar's one and only choice for shopping, dining, and entertainment, is celebrating Ramadan with special cultural interactive activities designed to take visitors on a journey across the globe, spanning a variety of cultures and traditions, in observing the customs of Ramadan across the world.
Throughout the month of Ramadan, visitors of the mall can enjoy a special Ramadan “Mosahraty Large Drum” photo opportunity, an interactive installation where they can take pictures while reenacting the famous Mosahraty. The “Mosahraty Large Drum” will be available for customers daily, during the mall’s working hours, and will be located at the Entertainment Node on the ground floor, near The Cheesecake Factory restaurant.
Furthermore, a special “Moon Watchers” educational stand display, will be on display for visitors to view the backlit moon phases during Ramadan, and reflect on their meaning. The “Moon Watchers” will be available for customers to visit during the mall’s working hours and will be located on the first floor between Eataly and Ladurée.
Visitors can also enjoy a special “Islamic Arts and Crafts Booth”, displaying Islamic heritage from all around the world, including paintings, wood craving with Islamic patterns, and Islamic rugs. The Islamic Arts and Crafts booth will also boast a TV screen playing documentary videos about Islamic crafts and trades spanning different traditions. The booth will be located at the Atrium Node, ground floor of the mall, near West Court 1 entrance, and will be open for all visitors during the mall’s working hours.
In addition, a dedicated “Dates Museum” stand will display the different type of dates for visitors to view and get educated about each type of date. The podium will be located on the ground floor, near the South Food Court entrance and next to Karafirin restaurant and will be available for all visitors during the mall’s working hours.

Throughout Ramadan, Festival City façade and different areas inside the mall will be adorned with special Ramadan decorations.
The mall will also adjust its trading hours during Ramadan. Between April 12th to April 24th, the Mall’s trading hours will be from 10:00 to 15:00, and from 19:00 to 00:00, while the hypermarket will be open continuously from 09:00 to 00:00. From April 25th to May 11th, general mall trading hours will be from 10:00 to 00:00, with an option to trade until 01:00. The Hypermarket will be open continuously from 09:00 to 00:00.
