Marriott Marquis City Center Doha recently hosted an intimate evening of art, culture, and gastronomy through an exclusive private dinner experience held at the hotel’s Vice-Presidential Suite on the 43rd floor, overlooking the stunning Doha Skyline

Bringing together distinguished guests, including collectors, cultural leaders, business figures, and representatives from renowned institutions across Qatar’s art and cultural community, the event celebrated the connection between art, dining, and cultural storytelling in a warm and elegant setting. The evening reflected Marriott Marquis City Center Doha’s commitment to creating meaningful guest experiences that connect hospitality with culture and creativity.

Presented in collaboration with multidisciplinary artist Catherine Karam and curator Randa Sadaka, the evening featured SADU: Lines of Heritage, a curated private exhibition showcasing selected works inspired by themes of memory, healing, and heritage.

Part of Catherine Karam’s series The Unfinished, the collection explored themes of memory, healing, and personal growth through abstract artworks created using acrylic, charcoal, and Sadu threads on linen canvas. Featuring layered textures, muted palettes, and Sadu-inspired motifs, the series reflected themes of reflection, resilience, and cultural connection while celebrating the richness of heritage.

Complementing the exhibition was a specially curated dining experience by Executive Chef Jamil Ahmad of Marriott Marquis City Center Doha. Inspired by the atmosphere and visual language of the artworks, the menu reflected the colors, textures, and artistic character of the collection through a carefully prepared selection of dishes. Designed to naturally connect with the exhibition, the culinary experience enhanced the overall atmosphere of the evening.

“Art has always been my way of translating the unspeakable, memory, healing, the quiet resilience embedded in our heritage. To share these works in such an intimate setting, surrounded by people who carry that same sense of cultural belonging, was deeply moving. The evening felt like an extension of the work itself, layered, warm, and full of meaning.” said Catherine Karam, Multidisciplinary Artist.

“At Marriott Marquis City Center Doha, we are always looking for meaningful ways to bring people together through unique experiences. Collaborating with Catherine Karam and Randa Sadaka allowed us to create an evening where art, culture, and gastronomy came together in a personal and memorable setting. We are proud to support creative initiatives that contribute to Doha’s growing cultural landscape and offering our guests a memorable experience that extends beyond a traditional hotel stay,” said Paul M. Cannings, Multi-Property General Manager of Marriott Marquis City Center Doha Hotel and Marriott Executive Apartments City Center Doha Hotel.

The evening highlighted the growing connection between hospitality, art, and culture in Doha, offering guests an immersive experience that brought together creative expression and cultural exchange.
