Qatar Charity (QC) received an in-kind donation from Canon Office Imaging Solutions Doha for its ‘Tayf’ project that will channel the proceedings of the donation towards supporting families with limited income and workers within the State of Qatar.
The in-kind donation came within the framework of the corporate responsibility of Canon Office Imaging Solutions Doha which donated 30 units of Canon LBP7680C as well as 11 units of Canon LBP653C/654C printers.
This is part of Canon’s on-going community initiatives in the region to support various entities that work towards benefiting underprivileged people, and to support the UN Sustainable Development Goal 1, to end poverty in all forms everywhere.
Mohammed Rashid Al-Kaabi, Assistant CEO - Communication & Resource Development Sector, Qatar Charity thanked Canon for the donation that will support low-income people, as well as workers in the country. He also said that Qatar Charity has always welcomed the contributions of other commercial entities and is keen to engage with them in charity works and humanitarian action, aiming at maximising the number of beneficiaries.
Mai Youssef, Corporate Communications and Marketing Services Director, Canon Middle East and Central and North Africa, said: “Reflecting our corporate philosophy, Kyosei – ‘living and working together for the common good’, we are committed to working for benefit of the vulnerable sections of society that face various challenges.”
She also pointed out that the contribution of Canon will support the efforts made by Qatar Charity to draw a smile on the face of families with low income and workers in Qatar. “We will continue to support charity works in fighting global poverty,” she added.
Qatar Charity also receives in-kind donations, including clothes, shoes, toys, furniture, and electronic appliances from individuals and institutions for its ‘Tayf’ projects to benefit workers and families with low-income within the State of Qatar.
In the sphere of CSR, Canon has continued to promote and support the activities of the Canon Foundation as well as various social and cultural programmes. The company has implemented several initiatives to strengthen information security, compliance and governance from the perspective of risk management.
Canon Office Imaging Solutions Doha previously organised several community activities with the objective of a better tomorrow. These include a blood donation drive with its employees in conjunction with Hamad Medical Corporation.
