Qatar National Library, in celebration of Qatar-MENASA 2022,
hosted the MENASA Cultural Fair, which shed light on the heritage of nations across the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia through a wide range of attractions and hands-on activities for visitors.
The fair, which took place on 3 November, featured a variety of cultural activities such as the telling of Yemeni folk tales and traditional stories along with crafts like paper marbling, illumination and drawing. In addition, it included a talk by Dr. Amir Tag Elsir, a medical doctor and novelist who spoke about his published poetry, biography and novels.
The Cultural Fair brought together the Ambassadors of Sudan, Yemen, Tunisia, Turkey, and Sri Lanka, who all took part in the event.
Commenting on the occasion, Abeer Al Kuwari, Director of Research and Learning Services at Qatar National Library said: “The fair falls within the Library’s efforts to promote the ‘Years of Culture’ initiative, an international cultural exchange that aims to deepen understanding between nations and their people. “
“The Library deeply believes that culture is one of the most effective tools to bridge the gap among people and to promote dialogue and understanding among nations. We will continue to share educational and cultural opportunities throughout Qatar and the world,” she added.
