Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) returns to World Travel Market (WTM), the leading event in the global travel trade industry, the 40th edition of which takes place at ExCel London this week from 4-6 November.
QNTC heads a delegation of private sector partners including hotels, DMCs and other hospitality suppliers, who are showcasing their offerings at the Qatar pavilion and meeting with international travel trade and media. They include: Qatar Airways, Katara Hospitality, Marsa Malaz Kempinski, Sheraton Doha, The Ritz Carlton, Grand Hyatt Doha, Four Seasons Hotel, Intercontinental Doha, Al Wadi M Gallery, Amari Doha, Murweb Group, Mondrian Doha, Radisson Blu Hotel, Sharq Village, Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels, W Hotel, Westin Hotel, Wyndham Grand, Century Hotel.
Qatar representatives are highlighting key developments to international travel trade, including the significant growth in visitor arrivals, which have increased by 12% over the first three quarters of 2019, compared to the same period last year, with UK arrivals in particular increasing by 20%. Hotel and hotel apartments also showed an 8% increase in occupancy rates during the first three quarters of the year compared to the same period last year.
The Qatar stand boasts two special features: a 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar™ area, which introduces visitors to the unique tournament experiences they can expect in Qatar in 2022. The stand also included an area for the National Museum of Qatar, showcasing the iconic museum.
