Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), founded by Qatar Foundation (QF), took part in Qatar Foundation’s National Sport Day 2026 activations at Oxygen Park in Education City, joining the day’s community-wide program.

QCDC delivered interactive, family-friendly sports activities that reinforced the idea that physical activity is not only a health goal, but also a practical entry point to building skills that strengthen long-term academic and career readiness. The activations included games designed to spark career curiosity and a sense of exploration among children and youth. They also highlighted the link between healthy habits and the core skills people need for their future pathways, such as teamwork, effective communication, clear goal setting, and discipline, aligned with the National Sport Day message of embedding an active-living culture as a driver of individual wellbeing, societal prosperity, and productivity.

QCDC also highlighted inclusive participation by engaging volunteers from its EmpowerAbility program for people with disabilities, who supported the delivery of QCDC’s activities on the ground. Their participation formed part of the program’s work-readiness and employability-skills training, providing real-world exposure to teamwork, responsibility, event support, and public engagement.

Saad Abdulla Al-Kharji, Executive Director of QCDC, said: “National Sport Day is a powerful reminder that wellbeing is not separate from success. It’s what enables it. When we support people in building healthier routines, we also support their confidence, focus, and readiness to learn and work. We were especially proud to see our EmpowerAbility volunteers leading by example today, contributing meaningfully, strengthening their skills, and showing what inclusion looks like in action.”

QCDC’s National Sport Day participation builds on the center’s ongoing efforts to embed wellbeing and balanced lifestyles into its culture and programming, including internal initiatives that encourage consistent engagement in physical activity and team-based sports.
