The exciting ‘W Doha World Cup of Golf’ event hosted at the remarkable golfing facility in Education City has come to an exciting end on November 30th. This unique partnership promised golf enthusiasts and its community a vibrant tournament that saw 108 participants from different communities.
The winners were announced on the same day later in the evening at the infamous WET Deck at the hotel where a lively prize-giving ceremony took place and top teams took home varying prizes.
The tournament swung into action with a total of 27 teams (consisting of 4 players each) from different communities in Qatar, with the South African team securing the vital first place. Kobus Goosen, Zander Stramrood, Susan Karamanian, Jacques Krafft aced into first place with a total of 95 Stableford points. They were closely followed into second and third place by the Pakistani and Kenyan teams who secured a total of 91 points each. Speaking on behalf of the winning team, Zander Stramrood said “This was a thrilling experience, and we are extremely happy to have secured first place in the tournament. We would like to thank both W Doha and Education City for hosting such a commendable golfing event”.

Alongside the tournament, 60 Diplomatic staff members including ambassadors enjoyed an introductory golf training session at the state-of-the-art facilities. The ‘W Doha World Cup of Golf’ allowed both competitors as well as supporters to enjoy a lively experience of what the sport has to offer.
