Doha Festival City, Qatar’s one and only mall of choice for shopping, dining, and entertainment, wrapped up Qatar National Sports Day events with various activities around the Mall.

Doha Festival City hosted the first-ever Cycling Marathon in a Mall on National Sports Day. The marathon, held on the Mall’s 3km long outdoor track, was free for all interested participants of all ages. Participants from all ages joined the race, which featured multiple stations with various activities on both the children and adult’s tracks in partnership with the Mall’s retailers. Bicycles were made available free of charge for all interested participants, making the fun accessible to everyone. In addition, participants were awarded for completing the track, including personalized participation certificates for adults and bicycle driving licenses for children.

Doha Festival City’s visitors also enjoyed free fitness classes at Edge Fitness, the Mall’s state-of-the-art fitness facility that features cutting-edge fitness equipment and separate facilities for men and women to help them reach their fitness goals. The classes attracted participants from different fitness levels, who enjoyed group workout sessions in the gym’s energised atmosphere.

Visitors and racers browsed the latest sports collections and enjoyed some snacks at “The Village”, which hosted pop up booths for Sports Corner, Aeropostale, GOSport, Daiso, Max, Centrepoint, Asics, Tavola, Skechers, Calvin Klein, and Athletes Co. Here visitors discovered the latest sports equipment, sporting goods, and sportswear collections.

Robert Hall, Doha Festival City’s General Manager, said: “We had a great time sharing the fun of Qatar National Sports Day with our visitors. At Doha Festival City, our love for sports does not end on this occasion, it is part of our identity. We always look forward to raising awareness of the benefits of sports toward a healthy society and celebrating national occasions with our guests and visitors. We thank everyone who took part in our event, and we look forward to seeing crowds again in the many events and activations lined up for them throughout the year.”

Earlier this year, the Mall unveiled its new brand positioning “It’s my place, my choice” tailored for 2023, with the main aim of bolstering its position in the market as the ultimate destination for shopping, dining, and entertainment, while further diversifying its offering, activations, and events for a truly bespoke experience to each of its visitors.
