Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), a member of Qatar Foundation, hosted a closing ceremony to honor volunteers from the EmpowerAbility program—individuals with disabilities and learning difficulties who played a vital role in organizing Qatar National Day 2024 and National Sports Day 2025.
The ceremony recognized key program partners, including the Ministry of Labor, Qatar Charity’s Ezdehar platform, Qatar Voluntary Center, Young Entrepreneurs Club, Wafeeq platform, and Qatari Manpower Solutions Company ‘Jusoor.’ Additionally, the event honored the program’s organizing team, trainers, and volunteers, with special recognition given to individuals with disabilities for their integral contributions to the program’s success.
The ceremony commenced with an address by Mr. Saad Abdulla Al-Kharji, Acting Director of QCDC, who commended the program's success and the contributions of all participants. He stated, “We deeply appreciate the invaluable contributions of our partners and their unwavering commitment to providing training and logistical support to our participants, empowering them to unlock their full potential. Our partners are key contributors to our success today and will continue to play a vital role in realizing a national vision that leaves no one behind.”
He added, “EmpowerAbility is more than just a program—it represents a message of inclusion, a strategic vision, and, above all, a collective commitment to empowering every individual in our society, regardless of the challenges they may face. The achievements realized through this program should not conclude here. It is our shared responsibility to continue advocating for inclusion and empowerment, working together to fulfill Qatar’s ambitious vision of a society where everyone has a role and intrinsic value.”
The EmpowerAbility program is a specialized initiative that offers comprehensive career development services, equipping participants with essential skills and practical experience to enhance their long-term employability. Through training and volunteering opportunities at major national events, participants gain valuable communication, teamwork, technical, and personal skills in real-world settings. The program aims to empower individuals with disabilities and learning difficulties to achieve their career aspirations while supporting their integration into Qatar’s labor market. This aligns with QCDC’s strategic vision of fostering an inclusive workplace where every individual can succeed and contribute meaningfully to society.
